The Forktime app (the "App") is provided by Monster Hub Pty Ltd, trading as Fork Time, 6 Truman Court, Stretton QLD 4116, Australia ("we", "us"), for people who work at restaurants that use Fork Time. It runs the restaurant's host stand: reservations, walk-ins, tables, orders, guest messages and ticket printing. This policy explains what the App collects, why, and how it is handled. It adds to our main Privacy Policy, which covers restaurants and their guests. The App is not for the restaurant's guests and not for children.
1. What the App collects
- Your login. The email address and password you sign in with, using a login your restaurant gives you. You cannot create an account in the App. The password is checked by our server and never stored on the device; the device keeps only a sign-in token, in its secure storage. Every request carries the account you are signed in with.
- What you enter for your restaurant. Bookings and walk-ins you create or change, the guest details you type or edit — names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, labels, birthdays, allergies and dietary notes — and the messages you send to guests from the inbox. These are saved in the restaurant's account.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a notification token for this device, so we can tell you about new bookings, orders and calls.
- Printing. If you set up printing on the device: the name you give the device, a key that identifies it to your restaurant, the App version, the operating system version and device model, and for each printer its name, paper width and Bluetooth address — so each ticket reaches the right printer.
- Diagnostics, only when you send them. When you tap "Send diagnostics" in the printing check, the App sends us its own state and recent printing events (for example, connection and printer errors) so we can help. Diagnostics never include guest details.
2. What the App does NOT collect
- No location, contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone.
- No advertising, no advertising IDs and no tracking.
- No payments: the App does not sell anything or take card details.
3. Restaurant and guest information
The App shows the restaurant's reservations, guests, orders, messages and call recordings from the restaurant's account. This information belongs to the restaurant; we process it on the restaurant's behalf, as our main Privacy Policy describes. Call recordings are played in the App, not saved on the device. When printing is set up, the App keeps the restaurant's most recent tickets (up to 30) on the device so staff can look back, and sends tickets only to the restaurant's own printer, over Bluetooth.
4. How we use information
Only to run the service: signing you in, showing and saving the restaurant's bookings, guests and orders, sending the messages you write, notifying you about new bookings, orders and calls, delivering and printing tickets, and fixing problems. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
5. Sharing
We share information only with service providers that run parts of the service for us, under contracts that require them to protect it: cloud hosting; Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which deliver notifications to the device; and our text-message and email providers, which deliver the messages you send to guests. We also share information when the law requires it.
6. Security
Information travels between the App and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens and the device's printing key are kept in the device's secure storage.
7. Keeping and deleting information
Login and device details are kept while the restaurant uses the service. Signing out removes this device's notification token. Removing the device (in the App: Printing → Remove this device, or from the restaurant's dashboard) removes its printing key and printers and stops its printing. Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored on the device. To have your login or data deleted, ask your restaurant or email privacy@forktime.ai. Guests can ask the restaurant or us to correct or delete their details, as our main Privacy Policy explains.
8. Permissions
- Bluetooth — to connect to the receipt printer paired with the device.
- Notifications — to show new bookings, orders and calls, and that printing is running in the background.
- Background service, wake lock and start on boot — so tickets keep printing with the screen off and after the device restarts.
- Battery optimization exemption — asked once, so the device does not pause printing overnight.
- Audio settings — to play call recordings.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell restaurants before they take effect.
